Traditional mosquito control methods offer short-term success but fail in the long term. Mosquito "spraying" kills the adults, which have probably laid thousands of eggs, and only a few drops of rain are needed to hatch a new mosquito. The Asian tiger mosquito lives in close socialisation with humans and lives in close proximity to them. The female mosquito lays her eggs near water (within a radius of about 200 metres), and even a small pool of stagnant water, a puddle, is sufficient for rearing the larvae. Mosquitoes that do not fly very well are unable to travel long distances and so the mosquitoes in your garden are likely to hatch their eggs there.

Easy to use
Simply activated by the addition of water, it attracts female mosquitoes to lay eggs by its colour, shape and smell, and then kills both adults and hatchling larvae in contact with the trap, thus preventing the mosquito population from growing. It provides three months of protection and helps prevent the spread of West Nile virus, yellow fever virus, encephalitis, dengue fever, Chikungunya fever, Zika virus, several nematodes and many other diseases spread by tiger mosquitoes. Its mechanism of action
The inside of the trap is coated with micro-doses of insecticides. It kills adults and their larvae on contact. Only water needs to be added.
Advantages of use:
- Its effectiveness lasts longer than any other pest control treatment.
- It is more suitable for long-term preventive treatment because, unlike spraying, it kills the larvae at the same time as the adult mosquitoes.
- Mosquito control sprays only have a short-term effect by killing the adults, while millions of intact eggs are waiting to hatch in the environment and will hatch with the arrival of the first rain.
- 90% of female mosquito adults are killed when they land on the inner surface of the trap. The individuals that come into contact with the inner surface, if they are able to fly out of the trap, die shortly after emergence.
Application, placement, maintenance
When used outdoors, it is effective over an area of 200 square metres per trap. Place 2 traps in a shady, sheltered position, suspended from the ground or from a tree, near shrubs or hedges, around garden sinks or fountains, in a vertical position, 8 m apart. The only maintenance of the trap is to check periodically that the trap contains water. If there is no water in it, refill it with water. Traps remain effective even with a minimum amount of water.
