Hobby rabbits usually live on a dry diet, so it is very beneficial for their health to provide them with vitamins, minerals and fibre in the form of fresh green.
Even if you don't have a garden, you can supplement your pet's diet with tasty and healthy herbaceous plants (e.g. laboda, marigold, mullein, tatica, plantain, buckwheat).
In frost-free weather it can be grown on a balcony, terrace in pots or in the garden.
Plants of unknown origin picked from parks or roadsides are unsafe for rabbits to feed on, while home-grown greens are free of harmful substances and varied all year round.
It is advisable to sow seeds in 3-5 pots every week to ensure that there is always enough fresh food available.
Fill pots, bowls or crates with a normal soil mix, sprinkle seeds, cover with 5 mm of soil, press down lightly and water.
Place in a bright place at 10-15°C. After reaching a height of 10 cm, they can be eaten.
Always give small quantities and fresh.
