Coconut fibre has a fibrous structure similar to peat. The coconut residue is obtained from the fragmentation of the shell bark. It can absorb 7 to 8 times its weight in water, but it is also a good water conductor and air-permeable. It has a PH between 6.5 and 7.5. Available in various sizes of compressed blocks.
