After 19 December 2018, Warrant 200 SL insecticide may only be used in closed production systems, i.e. it MUST NOT be used on potatoes after 19 December 2018, and plants treated in closed production systems (ornamentals, peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, courgettes, pumpkins), including seedlings, MUST NOT be planted in the open air and must be grown in closed production systems.

Mode of action and efficacy

The active ingredient in Warrant? 200 SL has been the world's number one insecticide since the introduction of imidacloprid in 1991. It belongs to the group of cloronicotinoids and has a specific mode of action. It inhibits the transmission of nerve impulses by binding to the acetylcholine receptor site on the host nerve cell, but because it does not break down or breaks down very slowly, it produces a continuous impulse. The pests are killed in this way.

Contact and stomach poison. It is very rapidly absorbed but very slowly degraded and, because it can move in the plant in a tipwise direction, it protects new shoots from pests for several weeks. It can also be absorbed through the root, so it is best used on seedlings before transplanting.

It has a very wide spectrum of activity, being effective against sucking pests (aphids, mealybugs, cicadas, bedbugs, thrips, shield aphids, fleas), chewing pests (leaf beetles, snout beetles, wireworms, leafhoppers, ground beetles, soil borers) and others (leafhoppers, dicotyledons, etc.).

Suggestions for use

For the control of aphids damaging peppers, tomatoes, egg fruits, cucumbers, courgettes, pumpkins during shoot and seedling establishment, it is recommended to spray at the time of first small colonies. Preventive drip irrigation should be applied to the soil.

In ornamental plants (greenhouse), spraying should be carried out at the time of first emergence of winged individuals, at the time of first small colonies, and against powdery mildew species at the time of first emergence of individuals. Preventive drip irrigation should be used.
