Cauliflower Snowball X
Early maturing. Develops large, compact, white and rounded roses, well covered by leaves. It is prolific and produces a high quality product even in hot weather.
Growing Snowball cauliflower:
Produces best in early, cold-film cultivation or in the first three rounds of outdoor cauliflower sowing.
Preparation
With carefully prepared soil and attention during early development, a plentiful crop can be harvested. Harvest until harvest. Can be harvested at the same time.
Space
75×35 cm or 50×50 cm in a film tunnel, 75×40-50 cm in the open field.
Planting
For harvesting in June, transplant seedlings into the open field bed in early April from seeds sown in cold foil in March.
The extra early sowing in late January to mid-February is grown in a hot bed. In the open field bed, we protect from cold and then from pests by covering with foil. The temperature under the protective cover should not exceed 22oc.
Rose formation
When cauliflower rosette formation starts, remove the tools used for covering. For the July and August harvests, plant the seedlings in April and May, which in turn were grown from the March seed sowing.
For autumn crops, the latest planting date is the end of July. Plant seedlings grown from seed sown in early May in an open field bed.
Cauliflower requirements:
Cauliflower should not be allowed to stop growing, i.e. it should not suffer from a lack of water or nutrients. To keep the roses white, they should be protected from the hot summer sun. To ensure that the cauliflower stays dry, it should be kept in a sunny climate.
As with cabbage, it is important to mulch and cover the soil to keep the soil moist.
