It can be successfully grown as a seed throughout the country, except in rugged areas. It can be grown everywhere except on poor sands, hardy bound clays and sic. Best pre-sowed from stall-fertilized catch and fibre crops or post-catch cereals. It is best sown between two cereals in a crop rotation.
