Uniquely effective insecticide against moth pests for a high quality crop

A uniquely effective insecticide for use in a wide range of crops. Fast-acting and effective at very low doses against the most important chewing pests that damage crops.

Coragen® has higher biological efficacy against moth pests than current insecticides. Coragen® is easy to handle and can be easily mixed with other products according to the results of currently available studies. It is excellent at killing target pests, but has minimal effect on beneficial insects and is therefore perfectly suited for use in IPM technologies when used correctly. Thanks to its very low toxicity (mammals), manual work in the plantations can be resumed immediately after the spray dries.

Benefits of using Coragen®:

A new mode of action, hitherto unknown, which helps against the development of resistance.
Long-lasting, long-lasting protection against moth pests.
Long-lasting, long-lasting protection against moths.
Broad spectrum of action, can be used in many crops.
Low toxicity, low risk to user and consumer.

Mode of action and efficacy
The preparation is a contact, absorbable and stomach poison. It has a true ovicidal action and is effective against all forms of larval development. The larvae are unable to hatch from treated eggs and ovules, and any larvae that come into contact with the active substance at the time of hatching die within a few hours. Symptoms: paralysis, inability to feed, total mortality. Paralysis and inhibition of feeding occur within a few hours after treatment, complete death occurs 2-4 days after treatment.

It has an extremely high biological efficacy, and can be used against a wide range of moth and beetle species. It is fast acting and effective at very low doses against key chewing pests (helps prevent larvae from feeding on maize leaves and ears and prevents chewing in the stalk). It is easy to handle and mixes well with other formulations. Thanks to its very low toxicity, manual work can be resumed in the crop immediately after the spray dries. Its long duration of action also prevents pest population establishment and overgrowth. It has excellent larval and ovicidal activity, and in some species it also has an effect on imago. Its new mode of action also makes it effective against pest populations already resistant to other active substances. Gentle on beneficial organisms.

Suggestions for use
In maize, control of corn earworm and corn rootworm moth should be based on forecasting, after the moths have laid eggs and before mass larval emergence. A dose of 150 ml/ha is recommended for heavy swarming. Repeated spraying may be necessary in the case of prolonged swarming or when a new generation is swarming. The addition of 0,1 % Trend® 90 wetting agent is recommended. Corn earworm infestation can severely reduce corn yields resulting in economic losses.
After the eggs hatch, the larvae feed on the leaves before burrowing into the stem. Excised tunnels in the stem often result in stem breakage, tube fall and loss of water management functions of the plant. The corn earworm
infestation can cause a reduction in yield (5-15% or more) and can also have a detrimental effect on crop quality.
Secondary pathogens may also emerge in the presence of moth pests, which may even cause a significant increase in harmful toxin levels. By controlling corn rootworm, the producer can minimise these losses. To facilitate this control, FMC-Agro operates the Evalio® AgroSystems monitoring system based on a light trap network. For more information, please contact your regional advisor.

In potatoes, foliar spraying against the first generation of potato beetle should be carried out at the time of larval infestation. The maximum number of applications per growing season is two.

In apples, treatments against pest moth species should be adapted to pheromone trap swarming observations and timed to the onset of mass swarming to ensure ovicidal activity. A possible prolonged cooling may delay oviposition and larval pupation. Repeated control of apple fruit fly may be sufficient every 14 to 21 days depending on the intensity of the swarming, while repeated control every 14 days may be necessary when other species are attacked. The maximum of two treatments allowed is recommended to be applied consecutively. For the prediction of moth pests on apple, FMC-Agro Hungary Kft. recommends the BIOFIX prediction system based on the calculation of the heat sum.

In pears, quince and naspolya, for all listed pests, it is recommended to apply the treatment during the period of mass swarming based on the observation of swarming with the sex pheromone trap. The maximum two treatments allowed should be applied consecutively.

In grapes, control of grapevine moths should be carried out on the 4-6th day after peak swarming. Any further treatments required should be carried out with a different mode of action. The effectiveness of treatments is significantly improved by timely and professionally carried out greenwork.

Always read and follow the instructions on the product label before use.
