What are the properties of green basil?
It is an annual plant with white or pale burgundy flowers, 40-50cm tall, and is warm and light-loving. The herbs and spices contain a lot of essential oils, which give them their specific aroma. They can also be grown in a small balcony box or pot to flavour your dishes with fresh, fragrant herbs all year round. They need a sunny, warm place.
Store your spices in a dry place, carefully separated from each other, in tightly closed boxes, protected from light. Coarsely ground spices retain their aroma longer and are only ground when cooking.
How do we grow basil?
Sowing:
Seeds can be sown in late April or early May at a depth of 0.3 cm. The seeds should not be sown deep, as light helps them to germinate.

Use as a potting mix:

Use as a herb:
In folk medicine it is used as an appetite stimulant, diuretic, diaphoretic and cough suppressant. Its tea has a nervine sedative effect. Its decoction is used externally as a poultice and as a gargle for sore throats.
